Justin Bieber’s girlfriend and Disney Channel star, Selena Gomez, has been chosen to host the pre-show to the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards! The 18-year-old will take up the job of interviewing celebrities as they arrive to Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles next weekend.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star recently talked about her thoughts on the gig. “I am very excited to be a part of the 2011 VMAs! After all of my years watching the VMAs, the pre-show has always been one of my favorite parts. It is a true honor to be hosting from the black carpet this year,” she said.
What we don’t know, however, is who will be hosting the actual broadcast.
What we do know, though, is that this year’s performances will include Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Adele, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga. Some of the presenters at the show will be Gomez herself, Seth Rogen, Kim Kardashian, Rick Ross, and Jonah Hill.
As reported earlier this week, there are also reports that Madonna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kesha and Nicki Minaj will all be at the show to honor Britney Spears. MTV will also be honoring Amy Winehouse, who died late last month.
Gaga will likely be the first person you see next Sunday as she will open the show with a performance two years after she made her VMAs debut.
