TLC officially canceled the reality television series Kate Plus 8 on Monday, which was the follow-up to Jon & Kate Plus 8, and Kate Gosselin doesn’t seem very disappointed with the news.

On Twitter, the mom of eight said that the show had a “great run”. She added, “Six years of whirlwind funfilled adventures thanks to TLC and our many many supportive &diehard fans!”

Gosselin also noted that her kids were disappointed when she broke the news to them. “While it is very sad for me and the kids (there were many tears at the breakfast table this morning!), we are looking forward with great anticipation to our bright future,” she said. “As is very typical for me, I am choosing to see the positive in this situation and I am excited to consider the many more invigorating opportunities that may come my way!”

In a statement released by TLC today, however, there is a chance occasional specials may air on the network in the future. “TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future,” the statement said.

The series will air its final episode on Monday, September 12.
