On Monday, Warner Brothers announced that lead actor for Two and a Half Men for eight years, Charlie Sheen, was fired from the hit CBS sitcom. However, now that Sheen has been fired, the studio and Chuck Lorre want the sitcom to do well to prove to Sheen especially that the concept will work even without him.

As noted previously, there are currently talks to have Rob Lowe replace Charlie Sheen, however there are problems with this as Lowe currently stars in the critically-acclaimed NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation and that he is close to the Sheen family since he grew up with them.

There are no word on how long Lowe is signed on to be with NBC, if any, however, if he signed a long-term comedy with the critic favorite, yet ratings struggling NBC series, that certainly will not work for CBS as they will likely want Lowe signed on and ready to go before the fall so they can start filming episodes for the new season in September.
