‘The Bachelorette’, ‘Extreme Makeover’ & ‘Law & Order: LA’ All See Ratings Gains

ABC was the network to beat in the key demographics last night, as the network averaged 7.49 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 adults demo for its three-hour line-up of its reality series. FOX was next with a 1.6 demo, but fourth overall in total viewers with 4.05 million viewers. CBS and NBC tied with a 1.3 demo, with NBC getting the edge in total viewers — 5.68 million for the latter and 5.22 million for the former. The CW was last with 596,000 viewers and just a 0.2 demo.

ABC aired a two-hour edition of The Bachelorette, drawing 7.74 million and a 2.3 demo in its initial hour and increasing to 8.34 million and a 2.7 demo in the second hour. That was an increase of 6% from last week’s 7.59 million and an increase of 17% in the key adults demo. ABC closed primetime with a new edition of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition, drawing 6.39 million and a 2.3 demo, which like its lead-in, also increased week-to-week by 13% in the demo and 11% in total viewers.

FOX went with a repeat of MasterChef at 8PM, 3.07 million and a 1.2, and a new episode at 9PM, 5.02 million and a 2.0 demo. The number for the new episode were very similar to the ratings it drew last week. NBC went with another rerun of America’s Got Talent, 5.8 million and a 1.4 demo, a USA Network rerun of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, 4.84 million and a 1.0 demo, and a new episode of Law & Order: Los Angeles, 6.4 million and a 1.5 demo. The latter show, despite it being canceled by the Peacock, increased by 13% in the demo week-to-week and 11% in total viewers.

CBS went with reruns of How I Met Your Mother, 4.2 million and a 1.2 demo, another How I Met Your Mother, 4.34 million and a 1.4 demo, Two & a Half Men, 6.15 million and a 1.5 demo, Mike & Molly, 6.05 million and a 1.4 demo, and Hawaii Five-O, 6 million and a 1.2 demo. The CW aired reruns of 90210, 840,000 viewers and a 0.3 demo and Gossip Girl, 470,00 viewers and a 0.2 demo.
