Even though Miss Nebraska Teresa Scanlan placed first last night, with Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady as the runner-up and Miss Hawaii Jalee Fuselier taking the position of the third-runner up, it was evident that each contestant at the Miss America 2011, held in Las Vegas on Saturday night, was a storehouse of talent combined with beauty. It wasn’t only the fitness and beauty that alone matched the criteria, instead the interview part mattered the most. Many of the contestants who could not claim the final title made their mark by achieving several sub-titles.
As the 53 beautiful contestants through the course of the contest went on to win the hearts of many, the final dash of glamor was certainly enhanced by the finalists. At first the selection was cut down to the final fifteen from which again a bunch of twelve beautiful girls were chosen. Following this, there was another cut down to ten. After the ten beauties competed against each other, the panel of seven judges for the night chose a final five. Contestants kept their fingers crossed with prayer as hosts Brooke Burke and Chris Harrison made the top five announcements. The finalists included Miss Nebraska Teresa Scanlan, Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady, Miss Hawaii Jalee Fuselier, Miss Oklahoma Emoly West and Miss Washington Jacquie Brown.
The sin city was all decked up with the Planet Hollywood casino-resort witnessing the presence of so many beauties under a single roof. Las Vegas had adorned itself to play host to the grand ceremony of the 90th anniversary of the annual Miss America. The glitz and glamor that that the event ushered in had made the national beauty contest one of the biggest extravaganza of the New Year.
