According to sources close to WrestleHeat.com, Vince McMahon apparently told those close to the creative team that former World Wrestling Entertainment wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will co-host WrestleMania 28 from Atlanta, Georgia this year. This name doesn’t come as a surprise as a big name such as Dwayne Johnson was expected since they had the Chairman and CEO of WWE appear to open the show to plug that will make a big announcement this upcoming Monday on RAW on the USA Network.
Dwayne Johnson posted a blog entry not too long ago on Facebook to his many fans that asked whether he will be returning to the company to wrestle that one last match. While he denied wrestling again, he said he supported WWE still and was in talks to do a gig for the fans one more time.
Now, it appears that Vince McMahon has reached out to the “Great One” to pick up more buys for an event that doesn’t seem to have a big spark this year due to the retirement of many stars since last year, as well as the new talent initiative over the past year.
