According to sources close to former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, he is set to announce that he putting his hat in the 2012 Presidential race next week. If reports are correct, that could happen as soon as this Thursday, June 2nd, while he is New Hampshire, according to his spokesperson Andrea Saul.
The current field of his competitors that have formally announced that will be running for President include former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, Texas Representative Ron Paul, and a few other long-shot candidates. “I think, by far, he’s the most qualified in this race. We’re trying to invite a whole bunch of our friends to come and meet him,” Stella Scamman, a specialist, said regarding Romney declaring an official run.
Other contenders that many expect to enter the race include former Vice Presidential candidate and former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, who recently purchased a home in Arizona, and Minnesota Representative Michele Bachman. Many whom are tracking the upcoming Republican primaries say that both will likely enter because of what many consider to be a weak field of contenders. Bachman is expected to announce her decision by June, and Palin is currently kicking off her One Nation bus tour which will end in New Hampshire, the site of the first presidential primary elections in February.
