Mel Gibson, Oksana Grigoreva Abuse Allegations End In Misdemeanor Charge

Stemming out of domestic abuse allegations in January of 2010, it all came to an end this morning when Mel Gibson was charged with a simple misdemeanor battery charge, as part of his plea deal. This, of course, is coming out of allegations that Gibson had attacked Oksana Grigoreva and she claimed that she had proof that he hit her. Since then, Gibson negotiated a plea bargain with the DA, who was going to charge Gibson with spousal abuse.

Luckily for Gibson, the plea included no jail time for him and he appeared on court today to plead no contest to a small battery charge. According to TMZ, Grigorieva also was not charged with extortion as had reported earlier by people close to both of them.

Both Gibson and Grigoreva will now put the messy charges and the “he said, she said” allegations and claims behind them. TMZ says that Grigorieva will now “concentrate on co-parenting [their daughter] Lucia” as well as “resuming her charitable work for the children of Chernobyl and moving forward with her life”.
