After months of anticipation, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are now parents to their brand new twins! Carey gave birth to the twins, one boy and one girl, today at 12:07PM local time at an undisclosed hospital in the Los Angeles area. Cindi Berger, Carey’s representative, released the following statement confirming the news: “The baby girl was born first, weighing 5 lbs., 3 oz., and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5 lbs. 6 oz., and was 19 inches.”

For Carey and Cannon, they are now first time parents to not just one child, but two. In addition, the happy couple are also celebrating their third anniversary today. People.com reacheed out to Berger to see if the couple planned in advance for their children to be born on the day of their anniversary. “No, not even Mariah could plan that,” Berger said. No names have been released to the press just yet.

As for the birth itself, a source close to People said the Carey was “completely calm” in the hours leading up to giving birth, but her husband was “very nervous”. In a funny note, the following altercation occurred when they finally reached the hospital: “When they walked into the hospital, [Nick] was going the wrong way and they nurse redirected them to go the maternity ward, and I said to her, ‘that’s right out of I Love Lucy,’ and she laughed.”
