Marc Anthony is denying reports that he was involved in an “inappropriately close” relationship with his Hawthorne co-star, Jada Pinkett Smith, who happens to be married to Will Smith.
A source close to Us Weekly reports that Anthony, who announced his separation with American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez earlier this year, was “a little touchy” with Pinkett Smith. The source dished that the two were usually in their “own little world” with the couple hanging out alone in Anthony’s trailer and talking and texting frequently. The insider notes, however, that they didn’t have a “full-blown romantic affair” that included sexual relations.
Last week, in a rather unprecedented move, both Pinkett Smith and her husband issued a statement through their representative down playing the rumors. “Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact,” the statement said.
Thursday morning on ABC’s Good Morning America, Anthony also denied the allegations.
“When something like that (affair rumours) happens, it’s laughable. We were laughing about it because we’ve been friends for years. Jada, Jennifer, me, him, for years,” he said. “What bothers me is the affect it has on family… to Will and Jada and their children and their relatives and their loved ones.”
