Authorities say that a Florida man who was suspected of killing four members of his family was in custody in Minnesota on Saturday.
31-year-old Henry Segura is charged with killing his 27-year-old girlfriend Brandi Peters, their three-year-old son Javanta, and his girlfriend’s six-year-old twin daughters Tamiyah and Taniyah in Tallahassee last November. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, he is being held in Minnesota’s Le Sueur County jail where he is pending an extradition hearing.
County Sheriff Tom Doherty says that Florida authorities provided Minnesota officials a tip that Segura may have been in rural Elysian Township, Minnesota. The Tribune reports that he had been living and working as a welder in plain sight for about a month.
A spokesman for the U.S. Marshal’s Service said that Segura surrendered without incident when he was found, but a shotgun had been found later in his pickup truck. Investigators say that his arrest came on what would have been the birthday of twins’ seventh birthday.
