To say that Lindsay Lohan dodged a bullet would be an understatement. This morning, she appeared before Judge Stephanie Sautner for violating her probation agreement, which stated that Lohan couldn’t drink alcohol. However, Lohan was tested twice last week and ended up testing positive once for drinking alcohol and negative for drugs both times, according to TMZ. Last night when the news broke, many sources stated that the judge wouldn’t be lenient on Lohan again after she gave her a comfortable house arrest, but that was not the case.
In a twist, however, it seemed that the Los Angeles Probation Department got it all wrong when they tested her for controlled substances and alcohol while she served house arrest at her home in Venice Beach — the court order required testing lapsed on February 25, 2011, and Sautner said that the only thing Lohan was guilty of was “extremely poor judgment”. In other words, the terms of her house arrest stated that she didn’t have to take any alcohol test. Therefore, drinking alcohol wouldn’t be terms for a violation.
However, for Lohan’s trouble of appearing in court, the judge ended up adding new rules to the rest of Lohan’s house arrest, including being banned from partying with friends. The judge even stated that Lohan was not allowed to see more than one friend at a time, although the visitation rules don’t apply to her immediate family. After court, Lohan — obviously happy with the way things went down — tweeted, “Thank you to all my fans for your support. Sending you Love and Light. xo”.
