Katy Perry canceled two “California Dreams” concert dates in Chicago yesterday (July 8) and in St. Paul today (July 9) due to coming down to what MTV calls “an attack of food poisoning leading to severe dehydration”. She is not, however, canceled indefinitely in those two towns as Perry has simply postponed both concerts — the Chicago concert will take place on August 21st now and the St. Paul gig will take place on August 23rd.
Perry took to her website to apologize to her fans for the inconvenience. “I apologize to my fans in Chicago and the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend, but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!” In addition she said this to her followers on Twitter: “Chicago and St Paul – I’m so sorry to have to postpone today and tomorrow’s shows,” Katy wrote. “But I’ll be back.”
The abrupt halt to the tour took place in the middle of the tour of North America, but will continue Wednesday (July 13) in Regina, SK at the Brandt Centre. After North America, she will be taking her tour throughout the United Kingdom, including Sheffield, London, Cardiff, Belfast, Newcastle, Birmingham, Liverpool, Aberdeen, Machester, Nottingham, and Glasgow.
