Catherine Middleton and Prince William decided to make one of their very first public appearances on Saturday. According to E!, both decided to show support for Carlton House, Queen Elizabeth’s horse, Prince William and Kate were joined along with William’s brother Harry and, of course, the Queen at the Epsom Derby in Epsom, Surrey. In addition, Kate’s parents were there — but were not cheering on the same horse as their daughter was — they supported Sohraab, who they have part share on.

Kate, as become the norm, awed many people with the clothing she wore — which was cream in color along with matching high heeled shoes. William and his brother wore traditional tailcoats and a top hat. Unfortunately for the royal couple who made a special appearance for the Queen, Carlton House did not win the race, and ended up coming in third place. Sohraab, by the way, came right behind Carlton House in fourth place.

The two will be making more public appearances in the future as they are set to tour Canada for a week beginning at the end of June. Afterward, they will be flying to Los Angeles in the United States.
