Kat Von D had both good news and bad news on Thursday. First, the bad news was that her TLC series LA Ink was canceled on Thursday after the cable network announced that the upcoming fourth season would be its last. “The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D’s journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles. The series finale will air September 15th at 10 P.M.,” the statement said.
Shortly after the news broke, Kat took to her Twitter account, claiming that the series wasn’t canceled, but rather she decided to quit. “I love how me deciding to not continue doing LA Ink, turns into being ‘cancelled.’ Thanks @TLC. Regardless of everything I remain grateful,” the tweet read.
Following her tweet, she told People that TLC decided to re-edit events that “didn’t happen while filming” and that she had no regrets about the footage and was “Very proud of the original footage”. “In my opinion, any attempt to compromise the honesty of that would be an insult to my fans and viewers,” she said.
The good news for Kat, however, was that just under a month after breaking up with Sandra Bullock’s ex-husband, Jesse James, the two are once again engaged.
In a statement to People, James said, “Sometimes you are only given one chance in life. It was up to me to open my eyes and see it. That girl is my chance. I will never stop fighting and striving to hold on to her. Showing her how special she is, and how much I love her.”
When they broke up on July 26, James said that it was due to distance. “I’m so sad because I really love her. The distance between us was just too much,”” he said at the time.
Kat confirmed the break-up via Twitter that day, too. “I am no longer w Jesse and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I’d like to share. Thanks for respecting that.”
