Recently, teen pop icon Justin Bieber finally cut his hair after growing it for three years. Afterward, he posted a photo of his new hairdo on Twitter and his followers have been talking about it ever since. After getting the haircut, he appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show and decided to put the remains of his hair up for auction on eBay where all the earnings will go to the charity of his choice.
With just over three days yet to go in the bidding, the auction has already reached $12,000 as of this post. The winner will get a plexiglass box with a lock of the Bieber’s hair, along with a signature from him, and a letter of authenticity signed by Ellen.
As for why Bieber decided to cut his hair, he told TMZ, “It’s been three years, and my hair was always getting in my eyes, and it was time for a change.” Bieber reportedly likes the new look because it makes him look more mature than he is. Bieber is currently 16-years-old and is reportedly dating Disney star Selena Gomez. The two have been seen together over the past few months hand-in-hand.
As for the person that will end up winning Justin Bieber’s hair, at least it is all going to a good cause. Proceeds are to be donated in full to The Gentle Barn, a non-profit that rescues animals, and brings at risk inner city kids to the farm to build self esteem and learn skills by helping to tend them. The double-sided approach to the charity makes it a unique organization that can definitely use the cash for their programs.
