Jennifer Lopez, who recently broke up with Marc Anthony after being linked with him since the late 90s, is speaking out on why the two decided to go their separate ways in a new interview with Vanity Fair.
Regarding why her and Anthony decided to call it quits, she explained, “We had the first three years of our marriage just for us. I wasn’t working, it was mainly about him. Then we got pregnant. Then it became about the kids (twins Emme and Max). And then I started working again. Marriage is tough. It’s not going to be perfect…It’s definitely challenging.”
Lopez admitted that even though the two have gone their separate ways, she will always have fond memories of the two together, and that he will always be in the lives of her and her children. In the interview, Lopez also admitted that she was the one who decided to end the marriage because she was not getting the satisfaction that she needed.
Regarding moving forward with her life now that her seven-year marriage with Anthony is behind her, she said that she is looking forward to “bring up [her] babies, and do the best job [she] can as a mother, entertainer and a person.”
Anthony was the third person that has been married to Lopez. Previously, she also had failed marriages with Ojani Noa and Cris Judd.
