James ‘Whitey’ Bulger Captured After 16 Years On The Run

After 16 years on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” list for his role of 19 murders, Boston’s most hated gangster James “Whitey” Bulger has finally been found after what the FBI says was a tip. The tip comes just days after the FBI took to daytime television to show photos of Bulger’s girlfriend Catherine Greig, a woman who was described as having “perfect teeth” and a love for being at spas, with the hope that those who watch female-oriented daytime television shows such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show or The View would have possibly crossed paths with Greig over the years, now 60, at a spa.

The recent publicity about this near-two-decade old case and the ads that were aired by the FBI led agents to their Santa Monica apartment on Wednesday, just one day after advertisements started rolling out on television. At the apartment, they found the now-81-year-old mobster and his girlfriend just blocks from the Pacific Ocean at their top-floor apartment. Bulder disappeared back in 1995 after he received a tip from a former FBI agent that the feds were about the indict him.

Now that the FBI found and captured Bulger, he is set to appear in court next Thursday in his home state of Massachusetts to face charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, narcotics distribution, extortion and money laundering. His girlfriend will also not go without any charges as she will face charges of harboring a fugitive. According to the FBI list, Bulger landed just under Osama Bin Laden in the FBI’s “Most Wanted List”. Following the capture and death of Bin Laden, “Whitey” Bulger became the most wanted man in the nation.
