According to a new report, NBC alum actress — who starred in the critically-acclaimed Friday Night Lights — Adrianne Palicki will be playing the lead character in the revival series, Wonder Woman. Palicki, 27, is famous for her role as Tyra Collette in the series Friday Night Lights.

Though this will not be the first time that Adrianne would be playing in a supernatural series, it would be the longest that she has been involved in. The last time that she played in a supernatural series was when she featured in the Warner Bros one-episode show Smallville. The episode was shown in 2004. Wonder Woman was a hit in the late 70’s.

Attempts to revive the show have often not been successful. The first Wonder Woman superhero was played by Lynda Carter. She played the role for three years between 1976 and 1979. The challenge is now on Adrianne to reincarnate the character and make it lively again. If the series becomes successful again it would be the first time that it has been resurrected after several other attempts failed. Adrianne has been part of several television projects. She has played in Fox’s canceled drama series Lone Star. She was also part of the Warner Bros show Supernatural.
