Rebecca Black may only be 13-years-old, but based on the money is set to rake in every week, she is the envy of most adults in the country. After her parents made an investment on her by paying the Los Angeles-basd Ark Music Factory $2,000 to produce and help write the song “Friday,” Black is well on her way to making some serious amounts of cash.
Previously, Forbes said that Black was going to make nearly $1.4 million from the proceeds of the amount of downloads from Apple’s iTunes, but that was later debunked as they grossly overestimated how many downloads she has received. As of now, just over 40,000 downloads of her viral song “Friday” have been downloaded, and she is set to earn $0.70 per download, which comes out to about $27,000 per week.
Even more for Black is that when she releases the acoustic version of “Friday,” she could even make more. The reason she would want to do that is to prove that she doesn’t need AutoTune to sing. Black has stated that she is ready to give a portion of the proceeds she earns to help fund the earthquake relief in Japan. Anyway you slice it, $27,000 for a 13-year-old is a lot of money, but why not start saving now for college, right?
