Actor David Arquette, 39, was involved in a major head-on collision car accident on Friday in Beverly Hills, but was not seriously hurt, Ciny Guagenti, his publicist, said. She further said that he was doing “OK” to the Associated Press afterward.
A Beverly Hills Fire Department dispatcher said a head-on collision happened on Doheny Drive, just north of Santa Monica Boulevard along the city’s border with West Hollywood. She could not provide details on the victims or their status. She declined to give her name.
Celebrity website TMZ reported that Arquette was in a head-on collision at about 2 p.m., and posted pictures that showed the actor lying on a patch of roadside grass next to a pair of vehicles with damage on their front bumpers and airbags deployed.
Video posted on the site showed paramedics and firefighters putting a man who appears to be Arquette on a stretcher and lifting him into an ambulance. Arquette and wife Courteney Cox announced that they were separating in October.
The pair met when they appeared in the film “Scream” in 1996, and are co-starring in the fourth installment of the horror series due out later this year. They have a 6-year-old daughter together. Arquette has also starred in the films “Never Been Kissed” and “3000 Miles to Graceland.”
