When Casey Anthony was found not guilty to murdering her daughter this past week in the summer of 2008, a majority of the people following the case were both appalled and outraged that Anthony “beat the system”. Members of the jury are coming out now and saying that although they didn’t think that Anthony was exactly innocent, there was not enough proof and evidence to prove without a reasonable doubt that she in fact murdered her two-year-old daughter, Caylee.
Soon after the verdict was aired all over the media, people took to Twitter and the name “Dexter Morgan” began trending. Why? If you’re not familiar with the Showtime drama series Dexter, portrayed by Michael C. Hall, the show essentially follows a blood spatter analyst who works for the Miami Metro Police Department to find out exactly how people died by the way their blood is projected. That’s his day job, however. In his free time, Dexter is a murderer, who only preys on the people that are walking free after unjustly murdering others — a criteria that many critics are saying portrays Anthony.
Since then, a clever spoof video has surfaced on its way to Youtube. The clip shows Dexter and his co-workers watching a live video feed of Anthony receiving the “not guilty” verdict. Right after, Dexter then looks at the camera, a stare common to those who watch the drama series that he gives before he hunts his prey. Unfortunately for many critics of those who want “justice for Caylee”, Dexter is nothing more than a fictional television drama, however. Watch the video below.
