The season finale of The Bachelorette aired Monday night, and in a new interview with People Magazine, Ashley Hebert admitted that her relationship with J.P Rosenbaum got better after her stint on the ABC reality series was done.
“The relationship really started after we left the show. The show made us stronger than if we’d met on the outside.” Regarding any regrets Ashley may have had with her ultimate choice, she said, “I’ve never even looked back for a second on my decision.”
The Bachelorette and its counterpart, The Bachelor, have a good track record of people getting engaged only for them to break off, but both J.P. and Ashley are getting praise for actually being a couple that could go on to have a successful marriage eventually.
In the interview, J.P admitted that “it stings” to watch the season play out on television months after it was taped to see what his fiancee went through. “You make it through something like this together, you can make it through anything,” he said.
