Angelina Jolie: “I Don’t Love Acting As Much As I Used To”

Angelina Jolie earned praise for her beauty as she starred on various movies over the years — and has earned Oscars and Golden Globe Awards to back up her acting chops, too — but, like many of us, she has admitted that she doesn’t like her career as much as she used — except, unlike us, she is a world-renowned actress. “I’ve never not been grateful to be an actor,” Jolie stated to the Financial Times. “But I think when I was younger I needed [acting] more. I was trying to question things in life so you find these characters that help you find things and grow.”

Jolie, 36-years-old and mother of six, instead says she is focusing on being a good mother. “I’m older and I know who I am…and I’m less interested in the character helping me answer something…than in being able to answer it for myself, as a woman, as an adult, with my family.” Jolie didn’t say that she was retiring, but is instead working on fewer films that she has in the past. “I don’t love [acting] as much as I did]. I love being a mom,” Brad Pitt’s beau stated.

Jolie and Pitt have six children together: Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and twins Knox and Vvienne, 3. She admits that she has a weak spot for constantly being on the go and isn’t very good at staying in one place. “I’m bad at sitting still. There’s so much to explore in the world. So I love travel. If you can travel I think it’s the best way to raise kids.”
