Amber Portwood Reportedly Recovering From Alleged Suicide Attempt

Amber Portwood, star of Teen Mom is reportedly recovering from a recent alleged sucide attempt, and has been released from the hospital. Gary Shirley, Amber’s boyfriend, released a tweet on Twitter yesterday, stating that the “amount of positive support and energy [from Amber’s fans] has been overwhelming”. He then went on to give an email address for more of Amber’s fans to send their support and well wishes for the reality star.

Earlier this week, MTV reported that the 21-year-old reality star, who stars in one of MTV’s hit series, was hospitalized due to an alleged failed attempt to commit suicide. Shortly afterward, she was brought to a medical facility in her homestate of Indiana after someone from her home called the police and stated that Portwood was threatening to end her life. They also added that Portood was depressed. In the original report, a representative for MTV stated: “Our understanding is that Amber has been admitted to a local hospital but we have not been able to confirm the accuracy of any reports being circulated and are waiting for further details. Our thoughts are with her and we hope to hear more soon.”
